- Co-op Position - Duke Energy Corporation – Cincinnati, OH – 4 quarters
- Worked in three departments: Distribution Planning, System Protection, Substation Engineering.
- Created a 25 page long term distribution study report for the Mason area. From this several projects have been initiated to improve system reliability.
- Learned how the distribution side of a power company works, including transformers, capacitor banks, switches, reclosers, single and three phase systems.
- Became familiar with system protection schemes and the philosophy behind them.
- Learned Duke’s materials ordering system and what items were needed when building a substation.
- Became active in new organization called the Leadership Development Netowrk.
- Served on the Logistics Sub-Committee.
- Created logistics template for planning events that is currently used by committee.
- Restructured committee and processes for planning events to be more efficient.

- Worked with controls engineering and programming.
- Implemented a bar code scanning system at Toyota, Georgetown, KY
- Had experience in PLC programming, Microsoft Visual Basic programming for Windows Mobile devices, and some Microsoft Sequel Server programming.
