Co-op Experience
- Software Engineer, Philips Medical Systems(6 quarters):
- Investigated defects in the code to find when they were introduced, sometimes months or even years in the past
- Verified that defects had been fixed and investigated when and how they were fixed
- Fixed minor defects in the code
- Investigated using General Purpose Computations on a Graphical Processing Unit (GPGPU) to perform some of the mathematical computations required to turn x-ray data from a CAT Scan machine into an image on the computer
- Gave presentations to the image reconstruction team to help them understand GPGPU technology
- Developed a design for, wrote documentation for, implemented, and tested a utility which would not require user input that would install necessary applications to set up the engineers’ software development computers
- Developed part of a testing utility that would simulate one of the CAT Scan machine’s subsystems and led the integration effort when all the parts were completed
