The CS GSA have planned a get-together for all students in our department (CS & ECE) who are taking their Doctoral Qualifiers this October. The purpose of the meeting is to get to know each other and to help each other out with the preparation (by sharing DQE materials, solving problems in groups, etc).
Please bring any DQE materials that you may have to share with others.
The meeting is scheduled for this Friday, Aug 29, at 2PM in the 850D classroom inside the Engineering Library. The meeting could also be very short depending on how many people show up. So, please be there on time. Let us know in case of a time-conflict or if you have any questions.
The next Climate Commitment 101 Lecture Series event will be Wednesday, August 27 12:00-1:30pm on the DAAP 5000 Level Stair The event will be a Summer Exhibition of student design work related to sustainability.
A reception will follow, featuring locally-produced gelato from Madisono's at Findlay Market.

GSGA is looking to hire a webmaster for the following qualifications. The position will pay $400 per quarter (requiring only 2-4 hours per week) starting with the Fall Quarter. Please send your CV to our office-683 Steger by August 30th.
The ideal ASP.NET Web Developer should have extensive experience in the design, architecture, and implementation of large scale C#/.NET web development projects. The ASP.NET Web Developer should have exceptional development practices, strong database development skills and a thorough understanding of object oriented design utilizing n-tier architecture. Thorough understanding of service oriented architecture is a plus.
1+ year recent experience developing web sites with C# / ASP.NET, connecting to SQL databases. Back-end SQL development experience and ECommerce site design experience a plus. Candidates must be able to provide url samples to demonstrate their prior development experience.

The spear-phishing email campaign against UC originally reported in January and again in April is back with renewed force.
Spear-Phishing is a phishing campaign tailored to a specific target group, using language or information to pacify suspicions of the target group. This phishing attempt requests the user to send their password in a reply email. Please alert your organizations to this threat and remind them that UC will never ask for a password to be sent by email!

Announcing the 3rd Annual Ohio Bioscience Career Fair
September 30 at the Holiday Inn Columbus/Worthington | 1pm - 6pm
Career and job fairs are a great way to meet a wide variety of potential employers in a friendly setting where both parties can gauge whether or not they want to go to the next step. BioOhio hosts an annual state-wide Bioscience Career Fair, bringing together job seekers and Ohio's bioscience companies. At the 2007 fair, held last November, we had 20 participating companies, attracting 250 job seekers.
Focused on the biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostics, and contract research industries, the career fair includes opportunities in the following fields:
