- Exam week coffee break - 12/02/2007 to 12/06/2007

Working late preparing for your exams? Take a break to refresh yourselves.

Free Coffee and other hot beverages will be provided by the ECE GSA from 9pm - 2am in ERC 536 during the exam week - from Sunday, December 2 to Thursday, December 7.


- GSGA's Graduate Student Mixer - Free appetizers & Games - Friday, 11/30/2007

Join fellow graduate students for the Graduate Student Mixer organized by the GSGA. Get tokens to play free games open to all graduate students and valid for this event. Free appetizers will be served!!

Venue: The Catskeller gameroom, TUC 1st floor.
Time:
6 pm


- Watch "The Simpsons" or "Ratatouille" - Friday, 11/30/2007

Friday Night Live & Mainstreet are screening the animated comedy Ratatouille at the Mainstreet Cinema and Food Court at 5 pm. The event is open to all and some snacks will be provided.

OR

If you are a fan, meet the Writer/Producer Mike Reiss and then watch The Simpsons movie at 6:00pm @ the Great Hall, TUC.


- Vote for the CS GSA Constitution and By-Laws

A separate email with the proposed Constitution and By-Laws for the CS GSA has been sent to all students of the CS department on 11/27/2007. Please take a few minutes to cast your vote (the link is in the email). It is highly important that you do so.

- New CS GSA Blog started

Check out the new CS GSA blog where you can start discussions on any topic. The blog can be accessed from the link on the left navigational bar or from here.

- Happy Thanksgiving !!

The CS GSA would like to wish all the students, staff and facutly a very happy thanksgiving. Have fun !!


- CS GSA Website updated

The CS GSA website is still under construction but a major part of the website has been completed. More updates will follow.


- Workshop Notice: Engineering Library Workshop on "RefWorks" - 11/14/2007

RefWorks is an easy way to organize your research. Using RefWorks, you can save your time and effort in organizing references and formatting bibliographies.

Learn to use RefWorks by attending the Engineering Library workshop, "RefWorks for Engineers", on Tuesday November 14, from 11:00 - 12:00PM.  The workshop will be held in the Engineering Library classroom (Baldwin 850D).  The workshop will be conducted by Aravind Ranganathan.

This workshop is highly recommended for all 1st year students (new to research), as well for old researchers who do not use any bibliographic management software or who haven't heard of RefWorks.

Note: Pre-registration is not required.


- Workshop Notice: ECE GSA "Programming Skills" Workshop on Matlab - 11/09/2007

The ECE GSA is conducting a workshop on Matlab as part of their 'Programming Skills Workshop Series'. The workshop has two parts - for beginners as well as for intermediate Matlab users. This workshop will also be useful to students taking / planning to take courses that involve Matlab Programming such as DSP, Intelligent Systems, Image Processing.

The workshop will be on Friday November 9, 200, from 4.00 - 6.30 PM at the Baldwin 860D classroom.

Note: Pre-registration is not required.
