The CS-GSA e-Newsletter is an effort by the CS-GSA committee to communicate with the graduate students of the department and to provide them with relevant news, information and regular updates.
We are in the process of updating the CS-GSA website which should go on the floors soon.
Having been here long enough, we have noticed that many students, first year students in particular, are usually unaware of a lot of resources available to them from the Department, College and the University. We will keep you informed about relevant workshops and other resources available at UC and we urge you to make most use of these opportunities.
Feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have and we will be more than happy to help you.
The ECE GSA is conducting a workshop on Matlab as part of their 'Programming Skills Workshop Series'. The workshop has two parts - for beginners as well as for intermediate Matlab users. This workshop will also be useful to students taking / planning to take courses that involve Matlab Programming such as DSP, Intelligent Systems, Image Processing.
The workshop will be on Friday November 9, 200, from 4.00 - 6.30 PM at the Baldwin 860D classroom.
Note: Pre-registration is not required.
RefWorks is an easy way to organize your research. Using RefWorks, you can save your time and effort in organizing references and formatting bibliographies.
Learn to use RefWorks by attending the Engineering Library workshop, "RefWorks for Engineers", on Tuesday November 14, from 11:00 - 12:00PM. The workshop will be held in the Engineering Library classroom (Baldwin 850D). The workshop will be conducted by Aravind Ranganathan.
This workshop is highly recommended for all 1st year students (new to research), as well for old researchers who do not use any bibliographic management software or who haven't heard of RefWorks.
Note: Pre-registration is not required.
You may have received this information before. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey if you haven't already done so.
The Graduate School is in the process of designing a comprehensive database of UC graduate student scholarly achievement and activity. The idea is that a student would self-register his/her Publications/Papers/Poster Presentations and other such activities so that anybody browsing the website would have access to view an organized listing of the work.
This 1-page survey is to get your feedback on how such a database may be of use to you. Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey.
