I received my M.S. (1987) and Ph.D. (1991) in Electrical Engineering, and postdoctoral training in computational neuroscience at the University of Virginia. Since 1993, I have been at the University of Cincinnati, where I am currently professor in the School of Department of Electrical Engineering & Computing Systems. My research area is complex systems with a focus on the following topics:

Neurodynamical models of semantic cognition and motor control.
Semantic analysis of texts.
Dynamics of ideas, innovation and influence in social networks.
Collective cognition in multi-agent networks.
Computational analysis of on-line news-feeds.
Self-organizing networks.
Artificial life.
Some of the research is funded through grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF)

I direct the Complex Adaptive Systems Laboratory, and teach graduate courses in complex systems, complex networks, neural systems, linear systems theory, and random processes.
