Undergraduate Studies

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) offers three undergraduate degree programs leading to the Bachelor of Science degree. Five-year undergraduate degrees may be obtained in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.

Each major includes a mandatory professional practice (co-op) experience. All College of Engineering undergraduate students participate in the Cooperative Education Program, one of the largest co-op programs in the country. Co-op alternates on-the-job experience with classroom curriculum on a quarterly basis. Students earn income that can help with tuition while gaining the solid experience that employers want.

Department faculty have received international recognition for their achievement in teaching and research. Others have earned prestigious University, College of Engineering, and departmental awards for excellence in teaching.

Students have an opportunity in their senior year to take the first part of the State Board examination required to obtain State of Ohio Professional Engineering registration. Students typically have a 100% success rate on this test.

The undergraduate programs in ECE involve over 650 full-time students.
