WelcomeThe department offers programs of study leading to Bachelors of Science, Masters of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Our mission is to develop engineers with skills in creativity, lifelong learning, problem solving, teamwork, and leadership. Our faculty strive to achieve excellence in teaching, research and the preservation and dissemination of knowledge. We offer the ACCEND program that allows our students to earn both a BS and MS in Computer or Electrical Engineering in the same 5-year period as standard BS degree. Our undergraduate students participate in a large diverse cooperative education program. Our graduate students are involved in diverse research disciplines which are sustained from both private and public sources with funding of $3M per year. Our research involves strong collaboration with other UC colleges and departments, and most other Ohio Universities/Colleges.

Prof. Art Helmicki is an excellent example of how ECE circuit and control principles are critical to applications far beyond one's imagination. Dr. Helmicki is one of country's leading experts in bridges from construction through in-service use and up to old age. UC's Infrastructure Institute (UCII) uses ECE control system principles to assess and monitor the condition and health of civil infrastructure systems. 
Prof. Ali Minai awarded part of a three year $680,000 multi-university NSF grant titled DBH: Dynamics of idea Generation in Individual and Group Brainstorming: A Multi-Disciplinary Approach Using Network Models and Behavioral Experiments.
